The 91-hectare Lake is named after British Governor Sir William Gregory who built it in 1874 by building a dam across Talagala and Nanu Oya streams. It is a famous recreation spot where tourists can enjoy boating, ballooning, cycling, floating restaurants, pony rides and view stunning sunsets.
