This golden-hued buddha statue, which has been built in the style of the ‘Abhaya Mudra’, is situated at the top of Serugala Mountain behind the Aluvihare Temple in Matale. The location offers a picturesque view of Matale, Dambulla and the Knuckles Mountain Range. This is not an old statue and this temple is owned by Aluviharaya Rajamahaviharaya.
