Travel towards Elkaduwa after turning from the Ukuwela Junction of Matale. From the Elkaduwa Junction take the Hunugala Road. About 2 to 3 kms. Down is this mesmerizing Sembuwatta Lake.


Another route is the Wattegama Road from Kandy and turning to Elkaduwa from Wattegama and take the Hunugala Road.


Sembuwatta Lake and Elkaduwa Estate is located west of the Knuckles Range. It’s ideal for photography as it is an environmentally serene location. The lake is about 30 to 40 feet deep and it is unsafe for tourist to bathe. As such a separate tank has been built for the purpose.
