Start from Wattegama, Kandy, on the Panwila Road to reach this waterfall situated in the Gunembilla Grama Niladhari Division.

Cascading through gigantic boulders, Raas Ella or Rahas Ella is the third waterfall found in Ravan Oya which originates from the Hunnasgiri Mountain. According to legends, this is believed to be one of the hiding places of King Ravana.

The 50-foot-tall waterfall consists of two cascades. The falling waters have carved a bottomless, crater in the ground below. It is believed to be so deep that the exact depth is unfathomable. Eroded rocks and boulders are strewn in the vicinity. A wide variety of aquatic plants and freshwater fish inhabit these waters.

The old bridge on the road near the waterfall is said to have been built in the British colonial era. The traditional Diya Kapeema rituals concluding the ceremonial processions of the Patthini, Kataragama Devala and the Gana Devi Kovila is performed at this venue.

The stunning beauty and the precariousness of the surroundings blend into a matchless experience that justifies the aptness of the name given to this location.
