Gatambe Temple is situated close to the Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya. It is one of the commonly worshipped places in Peradeniya and lies on one side bordered by the Mahaweli River. It is found along the Colombo – Kandy Road, in front of the Peradeniya Hospital. It is surrounded by a picturesque environment with the Gatambe grounds just close by. Locals believe that praying to the Bo tree at this temple will give them good fortune.
