New tourism Information Centre in Kandy (Near the Clock Tower) declared opened by Hon. Sarath Ekanayake, Chief Minister and Minister of Tourism, Central Province provides tourist information for both foreign and local tourists in all aspects of services including “KIOSK” Self information system. New tourist information centre consisted with free Wi-Fi, electronic communication and comfort facility.
This project has planned by the Department of Trade Commerce & Tourism, Central Province with the collaboration of Regional Economic Development Agency (REDA) and the Kandy Hoteliers Association.
Certificate awarding ceremony of foreign Language course is held at YMBA – Kandy at the same day.

The Kandy “Esala Perahara”, annual homage to homage to the sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha (The Esala Procession of Kandy) will be held in Kandy from 8th August to 18th August.
Heel Oya community based tourism programme has been initiated with the objective of distributing the tourism benefits to a fair cross section of the society by preparing accommodation units in village houses in Heeloya, Poddalgoda, Teldenya, carrying various themes and bringing our Sri Lankan authenticity and experience Sri Lankan village food taste.
